Solo Piano and Keyboard Services

Special conference event? Recital reception? Donor appreciation dinner? Office party? Chances are I’ve played events just like it or similar. Let’s get in touch about how I can provide the music and atmosphere you’re looking for. Got a specific sound in mind? Great. Not sure what exactly will work best? No problem. Let’s connect and find what’s appropriate and how we can make it happen. Acoustic pianos are wonderful and preferred, but I also have mobile set ups to get the sound where needed.

Combos

There’s always room for another great musician on stage.

Combo Work

Duo, trio, quartet, quintet, whatever size you want we can get. I work with a network of musicians that love to share the stage and know the value live music brings to an event. Let’s talk about what suits your needs best and how we can assemble an “A Team” for the occasion.

Weddings

Let’s make sonic profile worthy of the special day.

Weddings

Let’s make this easy, efficient, and exactly what you’re looking for. There’s already plenty to coordinate and manage for weddings and the last thing you need is extra concerns about the music. Here are the things I do: ceremony music (including prelude and postlude), cocktail hour music, and dinnertime music. I’m happy to talk special songs, arrangements, and themes. I can do organ and hymn work too for church weddings. I also partner with Erik Crew, an excellent guitarist and DJ who does: cocktail hour music (duo piano guitar), dinnertime (duo or DJ), reception dance music, MC announcements and proceedings. Feel free to ask about package deals bundling us together. It can be a big ease of mind knowing that all your music logistics are being managed in a single spot. We do a consultation for every wedding so that everyone knows the play by play for the big day.

Collaborative Piano

Voice, Instrumental, Choral, Ensemble, Church

Collaborative Piano

Working collaboratively is one of my favorite jobs in music. Before my Oregon State University (OSU) studies I had been working for choirs, musicals, ensembles, and with soloists since my middle and high school years. At OSU I began studying collaborative piano and regularly worked with fellow music students and colleagues. During that time Peace Lutheran Church hired me to play for weekly services. After I graduated I immediately transitioned into full time work in the OSU music department as a collaborative pianist. I worked with soloists primarily but also played for choirs and occasionally instrumental ensembles. While I have trimmed back some of my collaborative workload, I still love working collaborative gigs and the stimulating repertoire and performances they bring.

Education

I am teaching a small studio of piano and keyboard students. If you’re looking for jazz and improvisation lessons I might have room for you too. I also do coaching sessions, theory tutoring/teaching, and composition feedback. I’m part of a network of musicians through DTW productions who are also educators. If you are interested in other instruments or looking to “cross-train” instruments I can put you in touch with instructors for guitar, bass, drums and percussion, saxophone, trumpet, and tuba. DTW productions will be assembling group lesson opportunities for private students within its network to participate in. These group lessons will cover a wide variety of ensemble playing concepts, including ensemble roles, comping, supporting soloists, communication, and more.
