There’s more music available today than I could ever listen to and play in my life. What a time to be alive. Genres continue to expand and redefine themselves as artists everywhere find new ways to express their human experience. Rather than carve out a niche for myself, I look to challenge and expand my playing and musical understanding. Much like learning language, why stop once you’ve learned 10 words? Or 100? Or 1000? How would you decide when you’re fluent? Being hooked on discovering new freedoms of expression is one of my favorite parts of working in music.
